Annual Sports Meet 2018-19

“The moment of victory is much too short to live for that and nothing else,” said Martina Navratilova, tennis player. Apart from commemorating victories, sports meets also aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to children. The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 21^st and  22^nd December. The fantastic staff and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their sports day at Delhi World Public School, Alwar. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way. The Directors Mr. GauravYadav and Mr. SaurabhYadav and our Principal Mrs. PoojaChauhan declared the meet open with their motivating words for the students. The Sports meet open then followed the arrival of the torch. Mr. Dilip and Mr. DeenDayal were the first torch bearers followed by the Head Boy Archit Goyal, Head Girl Himanshi Meena, Sports Captain Ankit Gautam and Brahmputra House Captain Mudit Goyal. The tiny tots of the school, students of pre-primary classes participated in a lot of interesting races and showed sportiness throughout the day. On the second day a sweet dance performance by the students of grade 2 and an energizing exercise drill by the students of grades 6 to 8 set the tone for the rest of the event. Fun time with a much awaited final of Kho-Kho match between Narmada house and Brahamputra house was the major attraction for all the viewers. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students competed house-wise in events including sprints, sack races, obstacle races, 100m. races and fun water races. Teachers also participated in a few fun filled races for the enjoyment of the students.
The last event, an energy booster ! Inter House Relay, showcased the skills and exercises practiced by our young sports enthusiasts every day. The day ended with congratulating the winners with medals.
